Charity work
I've been fundraising and volunteering for various animal charities around the world since 2020, raising nearly £30,000 as of the beginning of 2026, but I currently work closely with the UK registered charity, Lucas Helps Dogs, helping street dogs and cats in Sri Lanka. I've been working with them since February 2025 to carry out pop-up spay and neuter clinics and to fundraise for them. Sri Lanka has an estimated 6 million dogs and 3 million cats, many of whom are in need of veterinary help, so we're working to bring veterinary care to as many as we can.

What is a pop-up clinic?
A pop-up spay and neuter clinic is a way of taking veterinary care to an area that otherwise has no access to it. We bring a veterinary team, dog catchers, all their equipment, and a team of volunteers to a hired villa where we set up a temporary veterinary clinic for a number of days. In those days, we'll help as many animals as we can. As well as routine spaying, neutering and vaccinating, we also ensure dogs get appropriate treatment, including skin treatment, chemotherapy for TVT cancer, as well as other treatments.
Dogs and cats are caught, brought into the clinic, receive surgery and treatment, recover at the clinic, and then are released back to the location they were found in. It's the most efficient and humane way to alleviate suffering and control the population.
How do we fund the clinics?
Simply put, we fundraise! The cost of veterinary care in Sri Lanka is significantly cheaper than in the UK, but it's still expensive to carry out a pop-up clinic. Our next clinic will be in February 2027, and we have to raise over £10,000 to run it. The costs include vet and vet team salaries, the rent for the villa we'll hire for the duration of the clinic, fuel and transport costs of the vet team, and much more. It doesn't come cheap, but it's worth it as we get to prevent suffering, and that's the main goal. All our own costs, like flights and accommodation, are self-funded.
